Is that a banana in your pocket or are you just happy to see...oh, no. It's a phone. Apple's oversized iPhone 6 Plus seems to be particularly vulnerable to bending out of shape, even from just the modest amount of pressure it's put under when snuggled inside a front trouser pocket.
But is it alone among the smartphone elite when it comes to this problem? Lewis Hilsenteger from YouTube channel Unbox Therapy put the "Bendgate" phone to the test against some other large smartphone competitors, including the HTC One M8, Motorola's latest Moto X, the Nokia Lumia 1020, and the smaller iPhone 6 and last year's iPhone 5S.
It's not the most scientific of tests, but does show that each shares the same weakness to a greater or lesser extent. While the iPhone 6 Plus remains one of the weaker phones in this respect, the HTC One M8 saw its screen pop slightly from the casing, and internal components inside began to crunch. Likewise, the screen of the Lumia pops free in places. Only the smaller iPhone 5S comes away unscathed. [YouTube]
