There's nothing worse than coming home from work to find one of those "Sorry We Missed You" Post Office parcel notes waiting for you in the letterbox (especially if you work from home and were definitely in at the time of delivery). Amazon's already dotted Pickup locker locations around the UK, but it's extending that convenience even further today, adding 500 newsagents and corner shops to its collection station roster.
Run alongside newspaper and magazine distributor Smiths News, premium Prime customers will be able to make an order as late as 11.45am and have it ready at one of the new collection points by 4pm on the same day. Depending on the store's opening times, you'll be able to collect an item as late as midnight the same day too, with the service (initially at least) available free of charge.
Additionally, Amazon offers a similar morning collection service, letting you order an item as late as 7.45pm and making it available for collection first thing the next day. Amazon's recently introduced tube station drop-off points also work alongside this scheme.
