Overcrowded British Graveyards are Starting to Look Like Minecraft

A uniquely modern solution to the problem of people dying all the time has been put forward, suggesting that graveyard congestion could be solved by racking up bodies in a stacking system -- creating multi storey underground burial plots.

The concept images have been put together by Greenacre Solutions, which suggests digging enormous graves wide enough to fit 12 bodies, then gradually filling it as and when new super-long-term guests check in. The idea has been floated to extend the life of a Banwell cemetery in Somerset, with the plots saved for use by families so there's no need to worry about getting stuck with a noisy neighbour for eternity.
