UK Government Orders 500,000 Ebola Protection Suits

British forces and overseas aid workers will soon be receiving a new piece of kit, although this one's quite grim and doesn't have Wi-Fi or GPS or a screen. 500,000 protective suits to help fight the spread of Ebola are on the way to those working in Ebola hotspots.

The government initially ordered 50,000 suits a month as part of a five-month deal with maker Arco, but has now doubled that to 100,000, to help protect overseas workers and the 750 British troops currently working in Ebola-struck Sierra Leone.

The Microgard kit offers a complete ensemble of suits and visors to protect workers from coming into contact with the bodily fluids of victims. [Gov.uk Metro]
