absolutely thrilling launch event, Apple has announced that we are getting updated versions of the iPad Air and the iPad Mini, cleverly titled the iPad Air 2 and the iPad Mini 3. Now that we know these things are real, there is no doubt that you will be wanting to know where and when you can get your hands on them. The network deals are starting to trickle in, with EE and Three already announcing they will be stocking the devices. More deals are going to be popping in all the time, so make sure to keep checking in to see what's what.
Apple has announced that both devices will be available for pre-order from tomorrow October 17th.
The iPad Air 2 with Wi-Fi models will start at £399 for the 16 GB model, £479 for the 64 GB model and £559 for the 128 GB model. So that's the death of the 32GV iPad then. As for cellular models, you're looking at £499 for the 16 GB model, £579 for the 64 GB model and £659 for the 128 GB model.
The iPad Mini 3 will be available with storage options of 16, 64, and 128 GB, costing £319, £399, and £479 respectively for the Wi-Fi only models. LTE enabled models will be available for £419, £499, and £579.
As always the tablets will be available in the usual colours of space grey and silver, with new gold options for the iPad Air 2 added this time around too.
EE has announced that both the iPad Air 2 and the iPad Mini 3 will be coming to the network in their Wi-Fi and Wi-Fi+LTE forms. No pricing is available yet, but EE has promised that details will soon be available on its website. EE will also be partnering with Apple for it's new Apple Sim feature -- one Sim card that can work across many international networks. And by many, we mean just EE in the UK, and a couple of the big US networks.
Three will also be offering both devices. Three has promised that the devices will be able to take advantage of free 4G and its "Feel at Home" roaming deal which will give you free mobile data in 16 countries. Both devices will be available at the end of October, and the pricing plans are as follows:
Is in on this new iPad game too. It will offer the 4G-enabled iPad Air 2 and iPad mini 3 with Wi-Fi + Cellular later in October. O2 will offer both on its O2 Refresh tariff that will allow customers access to its ultrafast 4G network.
