2014's Most Dangerous Road in Britain is the... A285!

If your commute, tense drive to the in-laws, visit to the shops or bus ride involves the A285 between Chichester and Petworth, beware -- it's the winner of the prestigious, slightly bent and battered trophy for being the most consistently dangerous bit of road in the UK.

The stats, compiled by the Road Safety Foundation, says the A285 is "persistently higher risk" than other routes, with any measures taken to reduce accidents failing -- and serious accidents along the stretch in fact rising by 16 per cent between 2007 and 2012.

Last year's most dangerous road was the A537, so it's good to see that one's cleared its act up a bit. [Independent]
