Google's Suave New Maps App Ushers in Material Design

The latest Google Maps update in the US finally makes use of Google's new design language, Material Design and is rolling out over the next few days. So Google Maps on Android or iPhone should hopefully look different in the UK, too, in not too long.

US users can now use it to book a spot at local restaurants through integration with OpenTable, too. When you're looking at a map, they can tap for more info to pull up sites in the area, including local restaurants, and a further tap will make a dinner reservation without leaving the app.

That's not the only change, either. You could already request an Uber using Google Maps, but this new update gives you more information about the car service, showing pick-up time and price estimates. [Google Maps]
