Poachers and Loggers Added to Interpol's Environmental Bad Boy List

Interpol has a new category of most wanted international supervillain, with the cross-border police force adding a countdown of the baddest environmental killers and planet damagers to its most wanted sections.

Illegal fishing, mining, poaching, wildlife trafficking and logging are some of the crimes being committed by criminal organisations these days, with Interpol's operation Infra Terra seeking to track down nine of the world's worst environmental troublemakers. An estimated maximum of $100bn is lost each year through illegal logging, for example, making these seemingly benign criminals just as wealthy as their higher profile drug-mule counterparts.
