Sky will no longer be officially known as BSkyB, with the satellite broadcaster ditching the two Bs it inherited after buying out rival British Satellite Broadcasting way back in 1990. It's now just Sky, even in extremely formal circles.
The word British is being dropped to reflect its European ambitions now it wholly owns Sky Italia and Sky Deutschland, while the word Broadcasting no longer applies because all it does is relay episodes of The Simpsons on a loop with one zero-hour contract worker turning the tape over every 72 hours.
