Large-scale solar plants are massive construction projects, that cover hundreds or thousands of acres of land in photovoltaic (PV) goodness. This amazing video shows how they go from concept to reality.

When it's finished, this 550-megawatt plant, called Topaz Solar Farms and situated in San Luis Obispo County, will contain more than eight-million PV modules. Its 4,500 acre sprawl will provide enough electricity to power 180,000 average households. [MidAmerican Renewables]
