Mistake-makers, rejoice. After years of choosing between deleting an entire photo or living with the embarrassing mistakes and ill-conceived jokes you posted with it, Instagram has decided to allow us to edit our captions after they've been published.
In a new blog post, Instagram's staff described the feature as "one of the top requests that we've heard from the community". It long seemed that the draconian functionality, or lack thereof, was aimed at keeping Instagram's UI simple and its users honest. But if you install the new update, you'll now see an Edit option alongside delete and share.
With this small-but-major update, Instagram has expanded its Explore page, adding a new tab called People next to the familiar Photos page. It seems like a way for the app to promote specific users — and, in all likelihood, expand its sponsored content. You can download the update now. [Apple Store, Google Play]
