Taking the personal assistants of Spike Jonze's Her one step closer to reality, Motorola has announced a UK release date for its Moto Hint Bluetooth earbuds. Priced at £99.99, you'll be able to pick them up from December 15th.
Rather than just being a simple handsfree kit, the Moto Hint buds integrate with the voice-activated Moto Voice and Google Voice Android services. With a tap or customisable voice command, you'll be able to check the weather, send texts or make calls, without needing to touch your phone. If you pair the Hint up with a Moto X smartphone you get some additional features too, such as the ability to post straight to Facebook, even if you're as far as 150 feet away from the phone.
Unlike Scarlett Johansson's 'Samantha' AI from Jonze's movie however, the battery life of the Hint leaves a bit to be desired. The 6g earpieces can manage just three hours of use before requiring a charge. Available in a range of finished, including wood and a "dark fabric" material, at least they'll look quite nifty when bunged into the bundled charging case. [Motorola]
