English Train Fares to Rise by an Average of 2.2 Per Cent in January

As well as the hike in regulated tickets to come in January, the rail companies want a bit more money for all other train journeys too. An average 2.2 per cent rise across the board will kick in on January 2nd, as rail fare increases in England drive up costs. In Scotland off-peak fares are frozen, with only peak trip costs rising by 1.5 per cent. [BBC]
