Plex for PS4 Streams Your Dodgy Downloads to Sony's Console

By Gerald Lynch on at

Plex, the go-to networked movie streaming service for the serial dodgy downloader, is now available as an app on the PlayStation 3 and PS4.

Following hot on the heels of the Xbox One version released in October, Plex adds titles, synopses, artwork and even background music to your library, beamed to the console over your wireless network. It'll even transcode formats that the PS4 can't handle (though MKV container videos and DTS audio aren't yet supported).

To get the most out of Plex you'll need a subscription however. Monthly passes cost £3, yearly passes £24.45, while a lifetime pass can be purchased for £91.50. [Plex]
