Rumour: Google's Android M Built to go Straight into Car Dashboards

By Gary Cutlack on at

Google would appear to be preparing to take its Android Auto ambitions to the next stage, with a report claiming next year's big Android release will be designed in part to run inside car dashboards without needing a companion smartphone.

The report comes from Reuters, which says Google's 2015 Android release will have options to run inside cars with the appropriate touchscreen tech, in an attempt to make Android the default car control system and do away with the swathes of competing apps and software suites provided by the car makers.
