Despite our love of its Hudl 2 tablet, Tesco hasn't had the best of years financially. With £264 million overstated on its profits forecasts, it's had some seriously shaky stock market dealings recently, fuelling rumours that it's to sell off inessential businesses like its Blinkbox video service.
Vodafone may be Blinkbox's eventual buyer. Having recently completed a buyout from verizon, it's put aside some of its newly acquired billions to nab Tesco's streaming service, according to The Telegraph. With Vodafone looking to launch its own broadband service next year, the addition of Blinkbox would add value for customers looking to make the jump. For Tesco, it's lopping off one of its loss-making arms, one which CEO Dave Lewis considers a distraction. With BT said to be entering the mobile race, Vodafone will have yet another big name to compete with before long. [The Telegraph]
