TV's coolest, kookiest cop is set to return to TV screens. Kyle MacLachlan will be reviving his role as Special Agent Dale Cooper for the long-awaited Twin Peaks reboot.
Showtime president David Nevins confirmed that MacLachlan will be "leading the show" during a panel at the Television Critics Association press tour this week, with an in-character MacLachlan making a surprise appearance and teasing "I'm very excited to return to the strange world of Twin Peaks. May the forest be with you."
Set 25 real-time years after the conclusion of Twin Peaks' original run, the show is set to air in 2016. Co-creators David Lynch and Mark Frost will be writing the nine episode series, with Lynch in the director's chair for all episodes. And, with MacLachlan now confirmed, Nevins has promised that other classic characters from the show will be returning, too. BRING BACK THE LOG LADY!
