Apple Patents Galaxy Note-Troubling Wireless Stylus

Apple's legal people have been patenting more new things for use in possible future gadgetry, with this "Communicating stylus" able to transcribe handwritten notes and send them to several devices.

According to the actual patent this isn't just for writing on the screen of a phone or tablet -- Apple's stylus is planned to be used to send paper and whiteboard notes to devices, making it sound ideal for use in schools that have blown all their IT budgets on equipping their ungrateful children with iPad Minis.

The device, should it ever get past the patent/drawing board stage, uses precise accelerometers and motion-sensors to track and interpret handwriting movements, rather than actually scanning the written output. [Apple Insider]
