Sky Sets Broadband Shield Porn Filter to Default On

By Gary Cutlack on at

The broadband division of Sky is looking to earn some brownie points from the anti-porn brigade, announcing a plan to set its Broadband Shield content filter to ON -- unless you've specifically turned it off.

Users of Sky's internet lines that haven't yet decided on a filter setting will be greeted by an interstitial page while browsing some time in January, telling them to opt for a filter setting before continuing. Browse away from this page without doing anything and users will see only the 13-rated, filtered version of the internet from then on. Much to the annoyance of dad on his phone in the toilet. [Sky]
