Your Future Moon Buggy Car Will be Self-Driving

If you're planning on freezing yourself in the hope of waking up in a future where we all sit at the wheel of one of Mass Effect's Mako vehicles, you might want to put that plan on ice. The future of space transport lies in autonomous control, with Nissan and NASA announcing a partnership to work on self-driving vehicle technology.

The five year project will use NASA's Ames Research Centre as its base of operations (Google's self-driving research hub at Moffett Field is nearby), looking at zero-emission robotic cars and integrating self-driving concepts into NASA's future space-bound vehicle fleet.  [Nissan via Wired]
