Google Allowed to Have Every .App Domain Name

By Gary Cutlack on at

Google has splashed out a massive $25m (£16m) on buying exclusive rights to use the .app domain suffix.

The tech giant has applied to buy masses of new top-level domains, with registrar-in-chief ICANN now approving Google's application to create and own all [YOURNAMEHERE].app domain addresses.

They will inevitably be used to sell crappy games to our children, and our children's children, ensuring future generations can be fleeced for pointless in-app purchases, thereby continuing to fund Google's space/car ambitions. [Business Insider]
