Idiot Tourists Attempt to Drive to Welsh Island

By Gary Cutlack on at

Two American tourists pointed their satnavs at a monastery just outside Tenby, then drove there. Problem was, the monastery is on Caldey Island -- two miles off the coast. And yes, they tried to drive out to sea.

Images show their rental car trapped on the sand as locals try to push it back to land. Satnav errors are nothing new, but to actually drive down a slipway and onto a beach because the nice Google robot lady told you to is quite something else. It took three hours to get them back onto a recognised road. [Evening Post]
