A senior LG employe has said to forget about seeing any exciting innovations in the mobile phone world for the next few years, suggesting bending, transparent and folding screens will remain in the realm of sci-fi for now.
Ken Hong, LG's Director of Corporate Communications, said: "I've seen the transparent displays. I've seen the flexible displays. I'm sure they can make a good phone with them at a rate of one per day. It's just not a commercially viable technology at the moment."
He's basically blaming the people that do the boring work of making batteries and processors, saying: "The design of phones is restricted by the technology of our component suppliers, so now we can only do what they can create." [Trusted Reviews]
