"Owl Bar" Lets Londoners See Something That Isn't Their Phone Screen

By Gary Cutlack on at

A new "pop up" bar is coming to London next month, promising to let people who live in the city widen their horizons by looking at some wildlife. Several real owls will be paraded before them as they drink cocktails, like some sort of Victorian freak show.

The bar, to be called Annie the Owl, will open in Soho between March 19 and March 25, between the hours of  8pm to 2am because that's when owls do most of their boozing. Six other trained owls from the The Barn Owl Centre in Gloucestershire will also be on display, with money raised from selling the £20 see-a-bird tickets going to the conservationists. [Standard]
