Star Wars Spin-Off Casts Felicity Jones in Leading Role

Hollywood's Mrs. Stephen Hawking will be exploring black holes in a galaxy far, far away, as Felicity Jones has just been cast in the first of the super-secret Star Wars spin-off movies.

Courting Oscar glory for her turn in The Theory of Everything, Jones has allegedly beat off Tatiana Maslany and Rooney Mara to take the lead in Godzilla director Gareth Edwards' stand-alone Star Wars movie. Also said to joined the cast are Breaking Bad's Aaron Paul and Zero Dark Thirty's Edgar Ramirez.

As for what the film will be about, that's still anyone's guess. Many of the rumours have pointed towards the plot focussing around kick-ass bounty hunter Boba Fett. Jones as the lead would be quite a curveball of course, but Ramirez wouldn't look out of place with a jetpack strapped to his back. Due for release on December 16th 2016, we're sure to hear more as The Force Awakens approaches cinemas. [Hollywood Reporter]
