Police in the Kesgrave area of Ipswich have warned that someone with a serious grudge against cyclists is on the loose, after wire was found stretched at head height across several of the cycle paths in the area.
The improvised decapitation device was discovered stretched across a track by a member of the public over the weekend, who called the police. A check of the area eventually found similar bits of wire across three separate stretches of path, although no helmeted heads were spotted rolling around in the road nearby so it would appear the attacker was unsuccessful this time.
Suffolk Constabulary warns: "This is an extremely dangerous and irresponsible thing to do, stretching wire across the paths at head height could cause serious injury to cyclists and pedestrians." [Road.cc]
