A porridge cafe, called the Porridge Cafe, is now open for business in London's fashionable Shoreditch enclave, offering those bored of the ironic charms of posh cornflakes the chance to try the milky/oaty breakfast that used to be the staple foodstuff of the common man.
The oat cafe also offers a range of dinner porridges, which posh people tend to call risottos. Example options from the menu include a chorizo, tomato and watercress hybrid, boiled up with buckwheat and quinoa grains. Imagine how smug you'd feel wolfing that down while your colleague gets Greggs crumbs all over himself. [Guardian]
