Samsung has released a lot of smartwatches over the past couple of years, more than any of its competitors, but still hasn't quite managed to release one people actually want to buy. Surprisingly there isn't a new one at MWC, and apparently that's because Samsung wants it to be a "more perfect product".
Young-hee Lee, head of Samsung's mobile marketing division, admitted to the Wall Street Journal that Samsung has released more smartwatches than anyone else and that it's time to take a break. This doesn't mean Samsung is ditching smartwatches completely, just that it's going to take more time to achieve product "perfection".
But what constitutes as perfect when it comes to smartwatches? We'll just have to wait and see. Hopefully it means Samsung has figured out that rectangular smartwatches look rubbish. [Wall Street Journal via Ubergizmo]
