21 Grams is a Sex Toy Filled With Your Deceased Lover's Ashes

"Till death do us part" has never sounded more quaint. 21 Grams is a new sex toy design with a difference. From Dutch designer Mark Sturkenboom, it's a dildo / urn hybrid that has a compartment to hold a deceased partner's ashes.

It's what grandad would have wanted, honest.

"21 Grams is a memory-box that allows a widow to go back to the intimate memories of a lost beloved one," Sturkenboom told Deezen.

"After a passing, the missing of intimacy with that person is only one aspect of the pain and grief. This forms the base for 21 Grams. The urn offers the possibility to conserve 21 grams of ashes of the deceased and displays an immortal desire."

21 Grams comes in an elaborate wooden display case, opened with a gold-plated brass key that should keep the final, unconventional resting place of the dearly departed a guarded secret, should that be required.

And if all the above wasn't enough, the box even doubles up as an iPhone amplifier and perfume diffuser, so that when you and your zombie lover's "song" comes on you can drown out your moans with banging beats, smelling fresh while getting down and dirty.

It's a bizarre idea, no doubt about it, but a bizarrely-sweet one too. The whole idea hinges around the belief that the human soul weighs 21 grams, and with no right or wrong answer as to how to handle the mourning process, I suppose this isn't really any wierder than putting ashes in a pot on a shelf or leaving a loved one six feet under. It's certainly a more intimate item of remembrance, and reclaiming lost intimacy for those in grief is undoubtedly attractive.

But on the other hand, it's a dildo filled with part of a dead body. You pays your money, you takes your choice; handmade to order, hit the source if you're interested. [MarkSturkenboom]
