An Attempted Spider Squishing Turned Into an Arachnophobe's Worst Nightmare

By Tom Pritchard on at

Being an arachnophobe with a spider in the house is a terrifying prospect on its own, but remember it can always get much worse. That spider could release its young all over your abode like some sort of terrifying eight-legged bomb.

While attempting to kill an invading wolf spider with a broom, a man from Australia's Hallet Cove accidentally burst the creature's egg sack -- releasing hundreds of baby spiders all over his kitchen floor. It makes my skin crawl just thinking about it.

Apparently the man filmed the event to prove to his wife that the spider had been dealt with. Clearly that didn't work out as well as he'd hoped. Damn Australia, you're terrifying. [The Guardian]
