Today Shazam has announced that it's expanding its partnership with Google to turn the phrase 'Shazam' into a command on Android devices. That means you can ask your phone to Shazam a song and it'll do it for you, officially making Shazam a verb.
If you feel a little bit silly shouting Shazam into your phone in public (because why wouldn't you), or your name is Billy Batson, other phrases can be used to achieve the same end result. They include 'recognise', 'name', 'song', 'track', and 'tune'.
You know what this means, though? Android users will no longer have to rush around trying to unlock their phone to identify a song before it ends. Happy shazaming!
