Everything is Better in the World Now That This Turtle Can Move Again

By Maddie Stone on at

The 90-year-old tortoise Mrs. T has been unable to walk since rats viciously chewed off her front legs while she was hibernating. Now, her devoted owners have given her a second chance at mobility, by attaching wheels from a model aircraft set onto her shell.

As her owner Jude Ryder told The Telegraph, there was concern that Mrs. T would have to be put down, but the fact that she’s taken to the new wheels might give her decades more:

“She took to them straight away, but she has had to learn how to turn and stop. She can get a good speed up, much faster than before. Mrs T is still quite young for a tortoise. She could go on for another 50 years - all she needs is a new set of tyres every now and again.”

This slightly restores my faith in humanity. [The Telegraph]
