Google Adds Takeaway-Order Function to Search Results

By Jamie Condliffe on at

Because ordering food already seemed too difficult, Google has decided to add a new tool to its search system which allows ordering takeaway food from restaurants straight from a page of results.

When searching for nearby food outlets, users will be able to select an option to “place an order.” That should whisks hungry Googlers direct to a range of food ordering services — at first including US food delivery services like Seamless, Grubhub, Eat24,, BeyondMenu and — without ever having to visit the website of the food place. Google is planning to add more delivery options in future –  and beyond the US — but sadly, even the slimmest of food stuff won’t fit through copper wire or optical fibre. [Google via TechCrunch]
