New WD My Passport External Hard Drives Come With Cases to Match Your Outfit

By Gizmodo UK on at

Western Digital has updated its line of My Passport Ultra and My Passport for Mac portable hard drives. Kicking off in 500GB sizes and going up to 3TB, the drives are both Mac and PC compatible, featuring 256-bit AES hardware encryption and USB 3.0 connectivity. So far, so standard.

But, like all good gadget peddlers these days, the latest Western Digital range is all about customisation. Because everyone needs a personalised external hard drive, right? Yep. The drives themselves come in black, white, berry red and "noble" blue shades. If you want to make them a little less "noble", you can also wrap the drives in one of five WD Grip Pack soft bands, adding a little extra protection and a splash of additional colour, too.

The My Passport Ultra and My Passport for Mac range starts at £59.99 and goes up to £159.99 for the 3TB models, which go on sale in June. Desk perfectionists will have to wait until June for the WD Grip Pack accessories, which will cost £9.99 a go.
