Windows 10 UK Pricing Revealed

Windows 10 is now only a few weeks away - due for release on the 29th July. But how much will it cost? Our pals at LifeHacker UK have been figuring it out.

Apparently Microsoft has today launched a Windows 10 upgrade app which puts the new operating system at £99.99 - which we presume is for the Home version. How much more the Professional version will be remains to be seen.

There is good news - as previously announced if you're upgrading from Windows 7 or Windows 8.1, and do it in the next year, you'll be able to do so for free. Even pirated copies will be able to be upgraded - though Microsoft has said that pirates who upgrade will still be viewed as owning an unlicensed OS.

Windows 10 comes packed with some intriguing new features, such as the ability to stream Xbox One games to your PC, and perhaps best of all brings back the Start Menu at long last.
