Amazon's Top Gear: Five Things We Want To See

By James O Malley on at

So finally we know what Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May will be doing next. The trio will be heading to Amazon Prime Instant Video to make... well, a new car show of course.

But with the show not set to enter production until the autumn, and not scheduled to premiere until next year, perhaps now is a good time to ask: What do we want to see on the show? All we know so far is that The Stig won't be featuring.

Here's some of our suggestions:

1) An episode where our three heroes take the role of a Yodel delivery driver, tasked with delivering Amazon parcels. Hilarity ensues when the presenters accidentally lose people's goods, claim to have delivered stuff when they haven't and leave parcels in unexpected places. At the end of the show, the person in charge congratulates the presenters on a job well done.

2) An episode in which Jeremy Clarkson reads books on climate science on a Kindle (whilst in the passenger seat as someone else drives) and decides to recant on his previously espoused climate change scepticism in the face of overwhelming scientific evidence.

3) A classic Top Gear style race in which the presenters use different modes of transport to attempt to find anyone - literally anyone - who has bought an Amazon Fire Phone.

4) Beautifully shot Top Gear style reviews of some of the most well known Amazon-sold products, including this box canvas print of Paul Ross, this weird pillow and this unicorn horn for cats.

5) Less racism.

But we want to know what you think. What would you like to see in the new show? Let us know in the comments below.
