The next iPhone - which we expect to be called the iPhone 6S - looks set to be revealed on the second Friday in September, if rumours are to believed.
MicGadget reports that a source at Foxconn, the Chinese company which actually manufactures Apple's devices, reckons that we could be looking at the keynote announcement on September 11th - with the phone hitting stores a week later on the September 18th.
This timing would seem about right - for the last several years the iPhone has received a September release, but what makes the rumour slightly suspect is that it supposes that the event and release will take place on a Friday, when Apple has usually done these things on either a Monday or a Tuesday. So take this with the amount of salt that you deem appropriate.
The iPhone 6S also looks set to be nearly identical to the iPhone 6 on the outside - but with the arrangement of the guts on the inside of device receiving a more substantial rearrangement.
