Samsung has figured out a clever way to kill two birds with one stone: How can it popularise wireless phone charging, and how can it declutter your desk? The solution is a new monitor from the company, which will come with a wireless charger built in.
According to PC World the SE370 will come in both 23.6" and 27" formats, and will have built in support for the Qi wireless charging standard, which is the same as found in newer Samsung phones. So you'll be able to sit down at your computer and rest your phone on the base of the monitor - and walk away with a bit more juice.
Qi is one of two or three major wireless charging standards (depending on who you ask - the two rivals announced a merger last year), but is backed by a number of major manufacturers including LG, Sony, HTC and Huawei.
The monitor itself is apparently optimised for gaming - with less lag, and a response time of just 4ms. When in gaming mode there will apparently be "richer black hues". There's even a mode that will reduce blue light output, which the company believes can cause eye strain and sleep problems.
We've no word on pricing or UK availability yet, but we'll keep you posted.[PC World]
