Deadpool Trailer Shows Off the Most NSFW Superhero Film Yet

Ryan Reynolds, your Green Lantern sins are forgiven. The actor is back for a star turn in new superhero flick Deadpool, and it's looking likely to be the most NSFW superhero film to hit cinema screens yet.

Deadpool (AKA the "merc with a mouth") is one of Marvel's lesser known characters, but enjoys a cult following, with his potty-mouthed, blood-soaked adventures usually having a more humourous leaning than some other po-faced superhero franchises.

And, going by this first trailer for the new film, 20th Century Fox nails that tone exactly:

That bit with the hole in his leg? Eww. But with a supporting cast that includes Silicon Valley's T. J. Miller (stealing all the best lines in this entertaining trailer), it seems that Deadpool will strike a good balance between humour and little-bit-sick-at-the-back-of-my-throat violence.

Being part of the 20th Century Fox Marvel universe, as oppossed to the Disney / Marvel Pictures one, it's unclear yet how much crossover Deadpool's story will have with those of the Avengers films, Guardians of the Galaxy or Ant-Man. But we do get a glimpse of what appears to be the X-Men's Colossus (with the X-Men another 20th Century Fox big screen property), so a little inter-franchise play looks likely.

It's not the first time Deadpool has made his way to the bigscreen, nor even the first time that Ryan Reynolds has played him, with the actor playing a bastardised version of the character in the shockingly bad X-Men Origins: Wolverine. Going by the trailer, it seems as if this latest Deadpool movie will wipe the slate clean with that earlier portrayal of the character.

Though the trailer doesn't reveal it, Deadpool's IMDB page has the film slated for a UK release of February 5th, 2016. So a bit of a wait until we get to see it yet. It'll be interesting to see if it ties in in any way with May 2016's X-Men: Apocalypse – going by the Colossus cameo, I'd say it's a safe bet.
