Over the past several years the image quality on TVs has gone up dramatically, TVs are getting more advanced, but the built-in sound is still a bit merh. Yes sound can only be improved upon by so much, but you don't want your UHD TV experience ruined by lackluster audio do you? That's where Orbitsound's A70 airSound Bar comes in.

Orbitsound promises that the A70 offers a rich immersive sound experience, enhancing all the sounds you'd find in everyday TV programming. The airSound technology also eliminates that coveted stereo 'sweet spot' to ensure that the sound is consistently great throughout the room.

But having an extra device for audio means you have the inconvenience of another remote, right? Not if you don't want it. You see the A70 has a feature called 'remote learning' which can be activated at the touch of a button, and this allows you to use your own TV remote to control the A70's volume.

As for the A70 itself, it's a small glossy bar that shouldn't stand out in your living room and has a full array of minimalist LED touch controls. It also comes with a Smart subwoofer that offers optimal power in a variety of different positions.

All you need to connect the A70 to your TV is the optical cable included in the box, and you're good to go. It even has lossless Bluetooth so that you can instantly pair it with any of your devices.

Orbitsound's A70 airSound Bar goes on sale today at John Lewis, priced at £500. That's a lot of money, but if you can't stand the quality of the sound that comes out of your TV it's a small price to pay.
