As the world waits to see if Jared Leto's performance as The Joker in Suicide Squad is any good, it seems that another Joker has already been cast. But don't worry, Warner Bros aren't already rebooting their gritty, shared universe - this Joker is destined to star in the forthcoming Lego Batman movie.
Empire Online is reporting that Zach Galifianakis has signed up for the role in a film that is effectively a spin-off of the wildly successful Lego Movie from last year. Consequently, Galifianakis will be going head to head with Will Arnett, who is reprising his role as the Caped Crusader.
Galifianakis is perhaps best known for his roles in Birdman, The Hangover, and as the guy who interviewed the President on Between Two Ferns.
Brilliantly too, it has been reported that Michael Cera has been cast as the world's least likely Robin for the film, which will be directed by Chris McKay and produced by Phil Lord and Chris Miller, who were the brains behind the original Lego movie.
It'll be interesting to see whether the film takes any inspiration from the Lego Batman video games, or whether it will be a fresh start. We can't imagine a Lego portrayal will be quite as scary as Heath Ledger's performance in The Dark Knight.
