What is Testmodo?

Like previous Testmodo challenges, three readers will be given a top notch new phone (this time the Xperia™ Z5 Compact) to review for Giz. Each participant will be required to write three short reviews over the period of three weeks, one focusing on the smartphone’s design, another on its camera and a third and final post summarising their overall thoughts on the device, sharing what's impressed them most.

Absolutely anyone who reads Gizmodo UK is welcome to enter. We don't care if you've never even had a smartphone before, or your spelling needs a bit of schooling. Giz's editors will be there to guide you through the process and help tidy up your rantings and ravings. If you've ever fancied yourself as a tech critic in the making, here's a chance to flex your gadget-reviewing muscles on a site read by millions.

What’s special about Sony’s Xperia Z5 Compact?

The Xperia™ Z5 Compact is a really nifty little Android phone, perfect for those who can’t handle a giant 5+ inch phone in their pockets. Measuring 4.6-inches, it’s waterproof with a dust tight design, squeezing in as much as a two-day battery from a single charge despite only being 8.9mm thick. With an HD display showing off Android 5.1, it comes complete with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 810 Octa-core processor, letting you tear through apps without a stutter and snap away with the 23MP rear camera, with an Ultrafast autofocus. There’s also Hi-Res audio support built in to let you hear your tunes as the artist intended. And, with a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, you can sleep easy knowing your phone knows only to unlock when sat in your trusty mitts.

How do I enter?

Either leave us a message in the Disqus comments section below, or drop us a line at testmodogiz@gmail.com. If emailing us, make sure you put “Z5 Compact Testmodo" in the subject line. Either way, make sure to add a sentence or two letting us know why you think you're the perfect fit for the challenge, and if you want to go the extra mile, please include your Twitter handle, and a link to your blog / YouTube account if you have one. Why do we request this of you? So readers can follow your behind-the-scenes thoughts on the Xperia™ Z5 Compact as you road test it, using our #testmodoZ5compact hashtag.

Leave a comment / send your email before the final hour of Sunday 4th October, 2015, or forever regret missing out on the chance of getting hold of some cool tech.

What's in it for me?

A fantastic prize, of course! You’ll be getting your hands on samples of the Xperia™ Z5 Compact and to say thanks for all your hard work (once your insightful reviews are in and the phone has been returned), we’ll be giving each participating reader a BRAND NEW SONY XPERIA™ Z5 COMPACT once they officially go on sale in the UK.

It may be that you have dreams about becoming a gadget reviewer. Perhaps you're just a bit of a wind up and can't wait to show off to your friends with one of the latest smartphones. Or maybe you just want to lord it over your Giz peers by bagging a byline on the site. Well, here's your chance. Whatever's driving you to enter, do so now – you only have until Sunday 4th October, 2015, to do it.

How are the three readers chosen?

A shortlist of 10 entrants will be chosen at random, with the final three participants being chosen by a panel of judges from Sony, Gizmodo UK, and an independent party.

The three participants will be required to comply with Future's standard competition T&Cs, which can be viewed here. In addition to these, readers should note that their personal data will only be seen by the judging panel. Readers must live in the UK to enter and need to return the review devices no later than the 28/10/2015.
