It’s just gone 9am on a Monday, and the cyber-world’s already gone into meltdown. That’s because the first tickets for Star Wars: The Force Awakens are on sale! How on earth do you not know already!? Get your life together. The latest entry in the ridiculously popular franchise hits the silver screen in exactly two months, and the movie-makers seem intent on hyping everyone into early graves.
Right now, you can snatch up 2D and 3D tickets for IMAX, Vue, Cineworld and Odeon screenings, though, as ever, the companies involved seem to be having a little trouble coping with demand. While plenty of smug gits have successfully made their bookings, loads of chumps have resorted to filling our Twitter feeds with whiny complaints instead. IMAX screenings in particular seem to have been hit hard by eager Star Wars fans, with the UK's flagship IMAX screen, the BFI IMAX at Waterloo, having to take its booking system offline.
A brand new poster was also unveiled last night, and it’s packed with a host of old and new characters. Luke Skywalker is notable for his absence, and there's a very Death Star-looking thing in the top right corner too. We've also been treated to a new trailer, which will presumably offer our final look at the film before it actually arrives.
Now, for goodness sake, chill out.
