For some reason, proper TV news channel HLN thought getting a man whose Twitter handle is @fart to talk about serious political issues live on TV was a good idea. That's like asking Reddit to do the weather forecast.
When asked serious questions about the legality and security of Edward SNOWDEN's antics and if he could have endangered the population with his actions, @Fart -- also known as Jon Hendren -- replied: "Well, you know, to say that he couldn’t harm somebody with what he did -- he could, absolutely, he could. But to cast him out, to make him invalid in society simply because he has scissors for hands -- I mean, that’s strange. People didn’t get scared until he started sculpting shrubs into dinosaur shapes and whatnot."
The news anchor was clearly too tied up in worrying about what her next question should be to actually listen to and interpret Hendren's bizarre response about the wrong Edward S., so she continued her line of questioning and asked about Snowden's exile in Russia.
That didn't work out well either, with Hendren replying: "Casting him out is completely wrong. We’re treating him like an animal, somebody who should be quarantined and put away. Just because he was created on top of a mountain by Vincent Price, and incomplete, with scissors for hands and no heart. Edward Scissorhands is a complete hero to me."
It didn't end there, either, and after another Scissorhands response someone who was paying attention to what was being broadcast told the presenter to quickly wrap up the interview. Here's the shame in action:
Internet hero of the day, week and pending further developments, all of 2015, and a reminder not to take news seriously if it's conducted in front of a pretend breakfast bar. [Jezebel]
