The first signs of the end of the world are showing, finally, with a street in St Albans chosen as the place the hell demons are set to emerge from.
They'll be coming out of a hole in Fontwell Close in the Hertfordshire town, according to the BBC, although at the moment all that's visible in the pit is the rubble of the owner's car park and a cute little wall that's been obliterated. Authorities are saying the 20-metre hole is some sort of naturally occurring "sinkhole" to avoid the population panicking and looting the local newsagent.
Ten people were evacuated from their houses in the street and are currently holed up in Batchwood Hall nearby, where British Red Cross members are administering cups of tea to the mildly inconvenienced. [Mashable]
