Sony has ferociously, yet carefully (safety first, after all), swung around its great big sword and slashed £50 from the RRP of the PS4, taking it down to £299.99. Don’t get too excited though. While it’s certainly nice news, retailers have long been offering far better deals on the console.
For example, it’s available for £289 alongside Destiny: The Taken King from Tesco, John Lewis has it listed for £289.95 with Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection, and Zavvi’s flogging it for £279.99.
There have also been PS4 price cuts in the US and Australia, with Sony looking to make the most of the so-called ‘season of goodwill’. The Japanese firm last month ironed out a few annoying PS4 hardware quirks, so it's well worth keeping an eye out for the best deals over the next month or so. There will be crackers.
