A man with a rare and particularly aggressive form of cancer is currently at the centre of a rare feel good Twitter storm, with kind people the world over -- and some Star Wars actors -- joining an appeal to get him to see The Force Awakens before he passes away.
The campaign was initially organised by his wife Ashley, who told local news network KPRC-TV that: "Even if it's just a movie, that's magic for a lot of people."
Daniel said of the film's sadly distant December release date and his poor prognosis: "Judging by how progressive the disease has gotten in the past two months I really don't think that I'll be able to make it," triggering mass online support for his predicament and even getting his own logo.
As a result of the hashtag #ForceForDaniel taking off, actors Mark Hamill and John Boyega both got involved by (re)tweeting their support, although with security surrounding the film's plot particularly watertight, it's quite a big ask to make of Disney.
They owe it to Daniel, though, as back in 2005 he made his local paper by being at the front of the queue for all three of the prequels and admitted to writing his own fan fiction Star Wars novels. What with that and the cancer, he's not had a great time of it. Get him a Blu-ray in the post, Disney. [Sky News]
