We’re all familiar with Google’s practice of zipping through the alphabet and naming its Android operating systems after sugary treats. It’s a satisfyingly simple system, and one that invites plenty of speculation.
As we know the next version of Android will start with the letter ‘N’, we’ve already been hit with rumours that it’ll be called Nutella, or Nougat, or Nerds. Or Nectar. Google CEO Sundar Pichai this week touched on a potential future model, in which the company would invite regular, non-Google people to vote on a selection of options.
