Daniel Craig Believed to Have Quit James Bond For a TV Role

The Daniel Craig era of James Bond is apparently over. Though the news isn’t yet official -- reports are coming from The Sun -- the actor has apparently hung up his tux and vowed never to shag or kill another secret agent again.

Craig’s said to have committed to Purity, a new US TV show, which will run for 'several series of 20 episodes apiece', meaning he won’t really the have the time to work on the next Bond movie. If true, the news comes as a blow to fans, though it isn't especially surprising.

Late last year, the actor described the character as a misogynist who’s incapable of teaching us anything useful in our day-to-day lives. He also said he’d rather slash his wrists than play him again. So dramatic.

Tom Hardy, Idris Elba and Michael Fassbender have already been tipped as Craig's replacements, though I'd rather see Danny Dyer in the role. [DailyMail via The Sun]
