David Bowie's Last Album to Become "Instagram Miniseries"

Just days before he died David Bowie dropped what we thought was one last surprise on the world: A new album. But now he appears to have dropped another: A penchant for social media #engagement.

Rookie Magazine founder Tavi Gevinson and Patricia Clarkson (who is perhaps best known for Six Feet Under) will be starring in an adaption of Bowie's final album, Blackstar, as it is made into an "Instagram Miniseries".

Because let's face it, a Vine miniseries simply wouldn't have the time for all of the complexities of the plot.

The show will take the audience "on a journey of evocative images inspired by the moods suggested in the album’s music, lyrics and artwork" - which is a big promise for what we assume will be a series of 30 second videos.

According to The Guardian the series will be written and directed by Carolynn Cecilia and Nikki Borge and crucially, the series apparently has Bowie's blessing as he gave them the music with "with no limits or preconditions on his part".

Here's the trailer that has been put out - in which a bunch of weird stuff happens for some reason, because art.

The videos will appear on the InstaMiniSeries channel from the 25th February (Thursday), with a new episode following every Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.
